Why choose Canberra Urology?
At Canberra Urology, our vision is to provide convenient access to current health information and education for all patients, consumers and members of the community about urology and the prevention of diseases. We believe that patient education leads to increased satisfaction and optimal treatment outcomes.
We take a person-centred approach to care which means the services we provide are respectful of and responsive to, the preferences, needs and values of our patients. In particular, our focus is on the following key principles:
- Value - We believe it is important to treat people with dignity and respect through awareness and support of each persons values, beliefs, preferences and perspectives. We take the time to listen and work collaboratively to customize and deliver exceptional service.
- Autonomy - We provide options and respect the subsequent choices you make by promoting independence and building on individual strengths, interests, and abilities.
- Life Experience - We understand that each person has a past, a present, and a vision for their future.
- Environment - From our friendly reception team to Dr. Mulcahy himself, we offer a safe environment free from judgment and adhere to the highest level of confidentiality.
Dr Mulcahy brings 30 years of experience and uses the latest evidence based approaches to ensure the best outcomes for his patients.
Canberra Urology is the only practice within the ACT that offers MRI Ultrasound Fusion TRANSPERINEAL Prostate Biopsies. Because of this high quality ultrasound, we are able to accurately image the seminal vesicles, pelvic ureters, bladder base, and the anterior rectal wall.
We have a small operating theatre within our private rooms which allows Dr. Mulcahy to conduct a flexible cystoscopy under local anesthetic. This means patients with haematuria are rapidly processed and investigated within an excellent environment. We have a blue light facility on our Olympus Flexible Cystoscopes which allows early and optimal identification of urothelial tumours in the bladder wall.
Thank you for taking the time to consider Canberra Urology. If you require any further information, please visit our contact us page and our reception team will be more than happy to assist you by phone or email.
